As the cricket season moved into full swing, WA all-rounder Ashton Turner was revealed as the newest ambassador for Sock it to Sarcoma.
Ashton’s experience with sarcoma stems from meeting a young man named Hugh, who was one of the many young people diagnosed with sarcoma.
Realising the lack of understanding around identifying symptoms and an absence of funding for patient services and research, he’s come on board to help raise awareness.
“A few years ago I was really fortunate to meet a great young man, Hugh, who had recently been diagnosed with sarcoma. There is a lack of understanding around identifying symptoms of sarcoma, there is a lack of funding that goes into research and there is a lack of funding available to provide services for sarcoma patients,” said Ashton
“Through my connection with Hugh, I am extremely excited to be a part of the campaign to help raise awareness about Sock it to Sarcoma!”
