The Emma Pauley Research Grant

We are very pleased that the following study was awarded the Emma Pauley Sarcoma Research Grant through the 2014 competitive grant process of the Hollywood Private Hospital Research Foundation.

The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of multi-disciplinary approach to improving long term outcomes in Sarcoma patients.

The specific aims of the project are:

  1. To evaluate the effectiveness of an 8 week fully supervised exercise rehabilitation programme, with respect to muscle strength, mobility and functional movement, in patients following sarcoma resection.
  2. To evaluate the effectiveness of psychological interventions using psychological measures.
  3. Investigate the need vs patient desire for further reconstructive plastic surgery on existing postoperative wounds.
