Sarcoma Awareness Football Round

This weekend many Junior (and senior) Footy Clubs will be pulling on the Odd Socks for the annual Sarcoma awareness round. We are so truly appreciative of the support shown by the West Australian Football Commission, WA Footy and particularly all the clubs for joining in so enthusiastically to show their support for the sarcoma community. Many clubs have a personal connection with this disease with one or more of their own community being impacted to various degrees. As far too often, sarcomas in young people get attributed to a sporting injury, we are incredibly grateful for being given the chance to share information about what to look out for and respond to amongst this group of young people and their families. Sarcomas can be found anywhere in the body and at any age, and it it vital that any suspicious and unexplained lumps, aches and pains get checked out. Referral to a sarcoma specialist team as quickly as possible is known to be the best pathway to optimal outcomes.
